LOVE AND LOSS ON THE LIDO DECK

Every epic quest redefines the adventurer, as in Love and Loss on the Lido Deck, where bridesmaid-to-be, Becky and a cruise magician named Joseph meet aboard the cruise ship, Calypso. Despite finding each other, Becky and Joseph encounter immense division between them. Their journey ventures through self-imposed and socially conscious places where class, culture, race, and status create a distance between them. Deciding if, or even how, Becky and Joseph would navigate the oceans separating them takes us on a voyage through the Caribbean, and into the shapes of human emotion, made incarnate atop the roiling depths of the ocean beneath. Homer’s Odyssey meets Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night meets Real Housewives of the Caribbean meets endless buffets and bottomless sangria as we cast sails on a journey that explores the literal and figurative masks we wear, in an effort to balance loss amidst the redemption of love while redefining our appreciation for rum. We can’t forget the rum.
